Day 3 - Afternoon

Today (Wednesday) was family day at Chief Logan and we were fortunate to get visits from the Diehl's, the Birds, the Babbs, and Jeff Lape and his friend Travis who spent the night with us. I wish I had gotten pictures of all the boys with their families, alas, maybe next year. Though they wouldn't probably admit it to you guys, they were really glad you came out to visit! Those who stayed, got to enjoy a fun Campfire, where the boys put on a skit for the entire camp which went over with moderate success (though by the boys own estimation was the third worst performance of the night)! In other news, at the Order of the Arrow ceremony (the BSA honors program for exemplary scouts) held immediately after the campfire, our own Sean Murphy was called out to join the ranks of the OA. Congrats Sean! He was pretty excited and surprised at the honor. After campfire, we went back to our own campsite and Nick Bird and Travis taught us all how to play Mafia, and may I say, Kurt Diehl had some of the most elaborate ways to kill us all off. To wrap up the evening, one of the boys, and I'm not going to name names (ok, it was Nick), found a "HUGE" wolf spider hanging out in his tent and Bro. Ninde had to wake up and escort the animal out of the tent for him. Nevertheless, Nick decided to spend the night under the camp common shelter with the rest of the boys rather than risk a return visit from his new hairy friend.
Jeff, Travis, Bro. Lape, Jared, Kurt, and Dan waiting for dinner call in camp.

Nick Bird mastering the Ice climbing wall and earning his climbing merit badge.

I don't think there is a happier camper than Mr. Kurt Diehl

Morgan, Dan, Kurt, and Jared knocking out their Citizenship in the World MB.

Bro. Lape and I doing some scout masterly stuff.

Swimming area at Lake Sproat. (None of the boys have spent any time here, which is hard to fathom considering the heat and how awesome it would be to climb up the giant marshmallow and jump off into the lake!)
